You leave for work or school in the morning with your beloved pet
in what you considered a secure area. Now your family pet is missing
and youre wondering where to turn. Your first thought should
be with Atherton Kennels & Shelter.
Malheur County, the Cities of Ontario, Nyssa, and Vale, Oregon
as well as Payette, Idaho have all contracted with Atherton Kennels
& Shelter to accept the dogs that are found running at large.
We also receive dogs from all over the Treasure Valley. These
strays come to us in a couple of ways. Law Enforcement has 24 hour
access at our shelter to bring these animals in and individuals
who find dogs can bring them in during shelter hours.

People may also call and let us know that they have found a stray
animal, but want to hold on to it themselves and hopefully find
the owner. Atherton Kennels and Shelter would like to see these
pets find their way back home to their familiar surroundings and
hopefully their loving family. In order for that to happen, here
are a few suggestions from Atherton Kennels & Shelter to assist you
in finding your lost pet.
- List your lost pet in our forum by copying and
pasting our Lost & Found Dog Form
at the bottom starting a NEW TOPIC in our forum.
- Put up posters in your neighborhood with an image
of your pet, or even offer a reward.
- Help your pet get back home with a Micro chip
( Avid

- Notify All Shelters, Call - and visit
- all the animal shelters in your area, not just the one closest
to home.
- Place Ads in Newspapers, Be sure to place
a "LOST" ad in the Lost
and Found classified ad section of all local newspapers.
